Knowledge and action go hand in hand in Islam. Having the former necessitates the latter, and that is the fundamental drive behind iERA’s educational pathway. To empower individuals with the knowledge and skills to continue the Prophetic Mission across the globe.
Over the last 14 months, iERA have been delivering specialist dawah training courses to imams and leaders from the UK, EU, Canada and the USA. Each attendee only completes the course after having designed a practical action plan that they can implement on the ground in their locality.
One of those attendees was Bilal Silva, a student at the Islamic University of Madinah who was selected to attend our specialist dawah training course in July 2018. He was chosen out of a pool of candidates due to his passion for conveying the call to Islam to non-Muslims and developing his community.
After successfully completing the course, rather than letting that knowledge sit idle, Bilal was so inspired and motivated that within a few weeks he set up a conference with some of the other attendees in his cohort at the Rex Center in Birmingham.
Bilal Silva, Muhammad Ugas and Richard Coupland delivered stirring lectures on ‘Why God Deserves Worship’, ‘The Philosophy of Science’, and ’Does Darwinism pose a threat for Islamic thought.’ iERA CEO Hamza Tzortzis and Outreach Specialist Subboor Ahmad also delivered supporting lectures at the conference.
“Groundbreaking!” That was the feedback from one of the 200 or so members of the local community who attended.
This is at the core of what we are trying to achieve at iERA – advancing the Prophetic Mission by conveying the call in a myriad of ways to reconnect mankind with their maker.
